Racing to the Top with Kvaser: A Formula Student Journey

Reaching the top of the Formula Student rankings with our electric race car, FEST24, took precise engineering and reliable tools. Kvaser products played a key role throughout the development and testing process. 

Seamless integration with our CAN networks and reliably delivered, fast and accurate data is essential during our fast-paced testing and development cycle. Whether diagnosing a communication issue between our ECU and inverters, or analyzing vehicle behavior after a run, the speed and precision of the data we receive from Kvaser tools has saved us hours—if not days—of troubleshooting.

Streamlining the diagnostic process 
Throughout the development process, Kvaser tools have proven to be indispensable. During electronics manufacturing, the Kvaser Leaf Light HS v2 has played a key role in debugging and validating our self-developed PCBs. Its dependable performance allowed us to quickly test new designs and ensure robust communication across our systems. 

On the car, the Kvaser Memorator Pro 2xHS v2 has been just as crucial. With the ability to log two high-speed CAN networks simultaneously. This dual-logging capability helped solve an issue with CAN overload previously experienced when using just one CAN network. 

For our driverless vehicle integration, Kvaser products helped us monitor communication between various sensors and the DV computer. This visibility was crucial for debugging the interactions between perception, control, and safety systems. 

As a team built on innovation and efficiency, we’re proud to rely on Kvaser—and grateful for the role their tools have played in helping us reach the top.
