Meet the Next Generation of Rugged CAN USB Interfaces

CAN USB Interface

We know that CAN communications don’t always happen in pristine, protected environments. Engineers working in the field need tough devices—CAN interfaces that can perform in service bays, construction sites, logging operations and fields just as well as they do in the lab.

That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce two brand new ruggedized products: the Leaf Light R v2 and USBcan R v2 2xHS.

The Leaf Light R v2 is a ruggedized version of our popular Leaf Light HS v2 single-channel CAN USB interface, while the USBcan R v2 2xHS is a ruggedized version similar to our USBcan Pro 2xHS v2.

Both interfaces are designed to handle real-world conditions in the field without missing a beat. Their IP65 rating makes them both dustproof and splashproof. An operating temperature range of -40 to 70°C means they’ll have no trouble working in inhospitable environments. A lightweight aluminum housing with a polyurethane coating helps protect against damage, and tough polyurethane coated cables are engineered for years of use in demanding environments.

Besides their ruggedized characteristics, both interfaces deliver the performance you’d expect from their standard versions. That includes backwards compatibility with older hardware and compatibility with J1939, CANopen, NMEA 2000, DeviceNet and Kvaser CANlib.
