Kvaser has released Kvaser CL Configuration Tool 1.1 with new diagnostics and testing functions for Kvaser Arcus devices. The update helps users test Automotive Ethernet connections, identify physical link problems, and verify link performance directly from the configuration tool.

Enhanced diagnostics for Kvaser Arcus Automotive Ethernet media converter
Test Automotive Ethernet links
A dedicated Diagnostics tab brings the new testing functions together. Users can run cable tests to identify cable breaks and troubleshoot physical connection problems.
Users can also read the Signal Quality Index (SQI) for a selected interface. SQI provides information about the signal quality of the Automotive Ethernet link.
The new loopback function returns transmitted data packets to the sender. This function helps users verify that data can be transmitted and returned correctly.
A new packet generator lets users generate traffic for testing Automotive Ethernet connections directly from the configuration tool.
Link-state color indicators make interface status easier to identify during configuration and testing.
Control TC10 wake-up and sleep
This release also updates the handling of TC10 wake-up and sleep commands. These functions are now available in the Diagnostics tab. A new Settings menu lets users configure automatic confirmation before sending TC10 commands.
This setting can help prevent commands from being sent unintentionally. The Settings menu also includes options for changing the application theme.
Interface property fields are now available in a dedicated Properties tab. This change separates interface information from diagnostic functions and makes properties easier to find.
The Kvaser CL Configuration Tool User’s Guide has also been updated with information about the new functions.
