RemotiveLabs, a Kvaser technical associate, has made it easier for development teams to move from virtual LIN setups to hybrid environments that include real hardware, without reworking their systems. Using RemotiveTopology, virtual and physical LIN nodes can run side by side within the same setup, allowing physical ECUs or sensors to be added gradually while the rest of the system remains virtual. This keeps network behavior consistent and avoids the disruption that often comes with introducing hardware later in a project.

RemotiveLabs makes the move from virtual to physical LIN development easier

This capability is enabled by RemotiveLabs’ RemotiveBus technology, which provides a simple and consistent way to connect virtual networks to physical LIN hardware. As a practical example, RemotiveLabs offers an open-source RemotiveBus plugin for Kvaser LIN adapters, showing how physical LIN interfaces – in this example Kvaser Hybrid Pro interfaces – can be added without changing existing definitions or workflows. The result is a smoother, more controlled path from simulation to real-world testing in RemotiveLabs’ platform, with Kvaser hardware fitting naturally into the process when physical LIN access is needed.
