Databases

A database, or .dbc file, can be added to the measurement much like we did the filters. By clicking the plus button next to any node on the bus and selecting CAN Databases. This will open a Database window where you can add a .dbc file.

By doing so, the parameters and definitions from the database can be utilized when viewing the CAN trace by clicking the Fixed Position button on the CAN Trace view and then clicking the drop-down arrow. We’ll cover this again when we cover Views.
