Kvaser’s May 2025 Software Release

More LIN views, an in-app User Guide and a signal data logger added to CanKing 7.2.0 

Kvaser has released CanKing 7.2.0, introducing extended LIN support within the CanKing GUI. Users now have more customization options for LIN message trace views and workspace views. Additionally, the new Signal Logger mode enables signal values to be logged to a file, and an in-app User Guide provides comprehensive assistance. The latest software update for Kvaser hardware includes an enhancement to the serial number string descriptor in the USB device descriptor for all Kvaser devices, apart from the oldest. This update ensures that the descriptor now includes the last six digits of the EAN and serial number (e.g., 006850-12345), making it easier to distinguish individual devices when multiple interfaces are connected. 

For second-generation (v2) Memorator devices built on Kvaser’s mhydra platform, a bug fix ensures that filters are correctly applied to DLC field values greater than 8. The updated releases can be found on a product-by-product basis on Kvaser’s Downloads page.
