Kvaser releases CanKing 7.4.0 with new real-time Signal Plot Extension
The new CanKing 7.4 release includes several new features such as LIN message logging, LIN log replay, and most notably Signal Plot – a downloadable, free of charge CanKing 7 extension which enables real-time plotting of signal values for fast and lightweight visualization of system behavior. With real‑time, engineering‑unit graphing of CAN and LIN signals directly inside the CanKing workspace, it is ideal for fast bring‑up of HIL benches, and on‑site debug.[AH1.1] Signal Plot is a separate download and requires CanKing 7.4.0 or later.
Signal Plot provides fast, intuitive insight into system behaviour by allowing users to track multiple signals simultaneously, zoom into events, compare values using cursors, and switch seamlessly between live and pause modes. As a companion to CanKing’s trace view, it turns raw bus activity into clear, meaningful graphical information.
Extensions SDK: modular innovation, faster
Signal Plot is the first extension built on the CanKing Extensions SDK, launched last year to let users create web‑technology GUI extensions – from dashboards to gauges and custom interpreters – without touching the core application. The SDK leverages React and runs across Windows and Linux.

Alongside the new extension, CanKing 7.4.0 also introduces[AH4.1] support for LIN message logging and replay when using MDF4.x files. Improved MDF4.x support ensure that [MH5.1]LIN data frames are recognised, enabling both the Message Logger and Message Replay nodes to work seamlessly across CAN and LIN traffic.
