Beginning Configuration

First, connect the device via USB to the computer. Make sure to have an SD card in the card slot as configurations are saved to the SD card. The contacts on the card should face up when inserting the card. There is no need to use excessive force when inserting or removing the card. The card should slide in smoothly and click into place.

Updating the Firmware
When setting up a Memorator device for the first time, always ensure that the device has the latest firmware. You will need to download the Kvaser Firmware Update Tool and extract the files to a temporary folder. Launch the updater application and follow the wizard to update the firmware. Once that is complete, download and install Kvaser Memorator Config Tool and launch the application by selecting the shortcut that matches the name of your Memorator device in the Kvaser Memorator Config Tool folder in the Start Menu. Once the application has opened, select Connect and follow the prompt to connect your Memorator device.
